Gesagt, getan.

****
If only once in my life I get the feeling of being a VIP, it has been yesterday. 💥

Let's start this story on Thursday when I had met some girls at the flamenco experience. One of them was from Augsburg also studying MuK, I just met her there by accident (I know that, besides of me, there are two other girls at San Pablo which study MuK in Augsburg, but they are already in their fifth semester). We decided to go to a rooftop party the next day (means Friday) which is hosted by an organisation called "Smart Insiders". It is an organisation that organises events especially for students from CEU San Pablo.
Friday evening we first went to have some Tapas. Two of the girls I was with are originally from Madrid so they led us so a less touristic place - there have only been local people, which was actually really nice because we were able to experience the real Spanish lifestyle. But that tapas bar was not really comfy; we were just standing at bar tables. There was no music but because the room was extremely crowded it was also extremely loud. There was ham hanging from the ceiling (that was probably something that had only bothered me 😅) and a harsh neon light was flooding the whole room with discomfort.
BUT! The offer was incredible.
With the Tapas is is like that: you buy your drink and along with that come the tapas. There is a story behind that, which the Spanish girls told us while eating (I don't remeber all the details but it must have been like this):

During the medieval ages the people have been really poor and could only afford either food or drinks during their lunchbreak. Not both. So most of them decided to go for the beer and therefore they were not able to work properly in the afternoon, because they were drunk. The king then decided that it is necessary that with every drink there comes a little amount of food so the workers won't get to drunk. So that is the birth of the tapas. In fact, they are called tapas (which means "lid") because on day the king went to the beach and ordered a wine. The bartender put a piece of ham onto the glass so the wind would not blow sand into the glass. So the ham worked like a lid. A "tapa".
(I don't know if this story is true, but it is a story from a local, so there must be something to it).

We were seven girls, so each of us bought a drink (0,5l for 5€; beer, cider or Tinto de Verano) and along with that we were served seven big plates full of tapas: Patatas Bravas, Tortilla de Patata, chickenwings, bread with ham or cheese and Croquetas. It was so much that we weren't even able to eat all of it.
As you might know by now I am very picky with my food and I don't really like to try new things. Still, I tried the Tortilla de Patata and well, it was ok... Along with bread. It was just not spiced or somtehing like that (in here, people don't really season their food, where as I alway put all kinds of spices in my food 😁)
But at least we all got full for a really cheap price.

After that we made our way to the Hotel Puerta América where the party was supposed to be. We hurried, because entry was free before 12am. We even did arrive a few minutes before 12 but there was a huge queue in front of the entry. We lined up anyway but after about 20 minutes one of the security guards came towards us and told us that we are likely not to get in there anymore. We were really disappointed and left. Nearby we found an Irish pub where we had some beers and played billard.
One of the Spanish girls texted the Organisation of that party, that we were really disappointed because we had to wait for so long just to not get inside anymore. We immediately receivend a reply. They stated that they were really sorry and that we should have just texted them and we would have gotten in, because we are from San Pablo. Said and Done.

We went straight back to the Hotel. By that time (it was already about 2am) the queue had disappeared but the girl from the organisation was already waiting for us in the lobby. She took us upstairs, led us past the security guards and placed us at a private table. Then she told us that we could choose one bottle of alcohol as a kind fo excuse for the inconvenience.
So in the end, we got into the club for free and even had a whole bottle of gin for free, too. Coulnd't have been better 😄
The club itself was not really what I had it expected to be like. I thought "rooftop bar" means that it is actually on the roof (means open air). But basically it was just a bar at one of the top floors of the hotel. The music was ok; not really my cup of tea but I know that I am picky with that aswell.
The shitty thing was that they kicked us out at 4am. They just closed the club. At 4 o'clock!!! 😨 I mean, well there were only a few people present, but still. At 4am? What the fuck. I guess I am just not used to that.
We then shared a taxi home because we all happen to live really close by eachother.

I will now go to the grocery store (my fridge is almost empty). There are a few things I want to write about when it comes to grocery shopping and storing food in here, but I will do that on another day. This post is already getting too long. In the evening I might go out with my flatmates. At the moment I am not really in the mood for going out - but it will probably get better 😊.
