Day 76: Taronga Zoo

Ich war heute im Taronga Zoo, der sich direkt am nördlichen Hafen befindet. Ich bin mit der Fähre dort hin gefahren - so wie es die meisten Leute tun. Der Zoo liegt an einem Hügel, deswegen gibt es eine Seilbahn, die die Menschen direkt vom Hafen zum Eingang (der sich ganz oben befindet) bringt. Da standen aber so viele Leute an - das hätte sicher Stunden gedauert - sodass ich mit dem Bus zum Eingang gefahren bin.
Ich hatte mich echt schon gefreut, ich wollte ja viele gute Fotos machen. Aber als ich dann drinnen war, war ich ein bisschen enttäuscht. Also, es war ganz nett da und für Kinder ist es echt super - es gibt viele Spielplätze und so Entdeckungspfade; es war auch alles sehr schön angelegt, sauber und gepflegt aber es war einfach viel zu viel los. Für manche Gehege musste man regelrecht anstehen um nach 10 Minuten dann endlich mal was sehen zu können. Manche Gehege waren auch so schlecht geplant... da konnte man die Tiere quasi nicht sehen.
Aber eigentlich will ich mich ja nicht beschweren. Ich hatte einen schönen Tag und ich hab's auch geschafft ein paar schöne Fotos zu machen.

I went to Taronga Zoo today, which is located just at the northern harbour.
You usually get there by boat and that is exactly what I did. Since the zoo is on a hill, there is a cable railway up to the entry which is on the top. Unfortunately, there were so many people queuing for the railway, so that I decided to take the bus to the entry.
I was excited because I wanted to take some good photos of animals but when I entered the zoo and while walking around, I was a bit disappointed. Well, I mean it was nice there, and everything was installed beautifully... I think it was heaven von children - many playgrounds and special discovery walks for them to explore. But for me, it was not that perfect because it was so crowded. You actually had to wait in front of the enclosures for about five minutes to actually see something. And some eclosures were badly planned so the animals just hid and nobody could ever see them.
But well, I don't want to complain - I did enjoy my day and I managed to take some pictures and since this was my aim - this day succeeded.

Ein Känguru. In ein paar besonderen Bereichen sind die einfach so rumgelaufen und man konnte sie streicheln **** a kangaroo - they just walked around in some special areas and you were able to pet them

Orang Utan Mama mit ihrem Kind. Ich habe denen bestimmt 15 Minuten zugeschaut - das war einfach so interessant. Die haben sich echt wie Menschen verhalten, mit all ihren Mimiken und die haben auch miteinander gekuschelt so wie eine Menschen Mama mit ihrem Kind kuscheln würde. Das war echt so faszinierend. **** Orang Utan mama and her child. I watched them for about 15 minutes because it was so interesting. They really behaved like humans with all their facial expressions and they cuddled together like a human mama would cuddle her child. I think this is really fascinating.

 

 Die Koalas waren so anders als alle die ich bis jetzt gesehen habe. Die, die ich vorher schon gesehen habe haben wirklich nichts getan - nur geschlafen oder rumgesessen und die Bäume angeschaut. Die heute aber waren anders. Die haben gegessen, und sind die Bäume hoch und runter geklettert und sind sogar am Boden gerannt. Vielleicht sind die einfach glücklichere Koalas. **** These koalas were so much different from the ones I saw before. The ones I already saw were literally doing nothing - they slept and sat around looking at the trees. But these ones were so differents...they ate, they climbed the trees and they even ran on the floor. Maybe they are just more happy koalas.
