The museum itself was very interesting but I had expected a different layout. It was all displayed very nice and in many stations you had the impression that life in the colony was beautiful and easy. They told stories of some prisoners, but basically they were about how they built up a good life in Australia. I thought it was more shocking and that they also displayed the bad sides and told some more tragic and sad fates.
Anyway, we stayed there for three hours which is quite long as the museum is not that big.
I also want to tell you about a disgusting discovery I made yesterday: cockroaches. Huge ones which are basically everywhere; also in my office. I saw one running around and I was so disgusted and wondered where it might went. Then, when I walked up to the shredding machine, I had the answer: there was a plate on the ground which was covered with something very sticky with three big cockroaches sticking to it; two already dead and one still moving, probably the one I saw just before. Now I can say, I hate those insects and I am so happy that I don't have any of them in my appartment (maybe because it is on the first floor and not the ground floor?)
