Day 26: Newtown Festival

****

Since sunday has already come to an end, my 3rd complete week here will end in a few hours. Due to the fact that I arrived on a friday, I am here for more than 3 weeks now, which means that I have never been away from home that long (three weeks was my longest stay away from home). I don't know if that means anything special, if I will feel different now or anything else. I just noticed it.
Today I went to the Newtown Festival with some girls from my appartment. Newtown is a quarter which is close to mine (Glebe) and it was awesome, especially because the entry was for free ;).
It has been much bigger than I had expected but it was so crowded. During noon, it was difficult to find your way through the paths. You had to stop everywhere and stand for a while, but that didn't matter, because so, I could see many nice things. There were many stands with beautiful clothes, artworks and jewellery. I bought a floral wreath for my hair and an amazing tunic, also with a floral print. There were so many beautiful things, I'd loved to buy more but I couldn't. I also saw many (funny) things I had never seen before. For example, there was this guy and he sold small notebooks, cards and paperworks made from elephant poo. Can you imagine that? I was so close to buy a sign for the toilett which said "poo in progress", but then I didn't. There were also three little stages where local bands were performing and a huge food court.
I ate some thai noodles here. Actually, there are so many asian restaurants all over the city. And asian people, too. Not that this is a bad thing, but there are more asians than western people here. Sometimes I feel like being in Hong Kong or something like that. But that's totally cool, especially because they are making so good food :)
