Ich hatte also echt Spaß.
Gottseidank)

Gute Nach:*
Im Freibad **** at the pools

Rodilla Moncloa

****

I bought the most essential thing for sleeping yesterday: a fan. I mean, I am getting used to the heat, but why not buying one when you could. I also bought towels, a pillow and some thing to hang my clothes on while drying (because in this house, there is only one clothes horse; for 18 people !!!). Can you imagine all the people staring at me because I had to carry all those things through the whole city? It was funny though.
After doing the shopping I went to the swimming pools. There is one quite close to my apartment (well, it’s 10 minutes with the metro, but for Madrid distance, it is not much). Well I went there, but I forgot my sunscreen and therefore only stayed for two hours. But I decided to come there the next day, again.
No sooner said than done, I went there again today, forearmed with suncreen, food and water. But even though I applied the sunscreen every two hours, I got a sun burn (turns out SPF 20 is not enough for the spanish sun). But it is not too bad. During my stay I got really motivated and swam 800 meters. And let me tell you: afterwards, me, as well as my legs, were freaking tired. But I was happy.
So really enjoyed my stay, but there was one thing I recognised that was strange to me. Many women, especially young women were walking around without a bikini top. And by walking around I don’t mean lying down and tanning. No, I mean walking around everywhere, swimming, eating and, well, also tanning. I guess that wouldn’t be possible in Germany but hey, free the nipple, swing around your boobies if you want to.
After my stay at the pools I did not go home by metro but I walked to the station which comes after the station oft he pools: Principe Pío. There is a hughe shopping centre and luckily I only had five euros with me, because otherwise I would already been broke. :D
So when I arrived at my room I felt so tired, but after eating some quark (finally I found some), I decided to check out Parque del Oeste if it was a good place for running. At first I took the wrong way, but in that way I discovered the building oft he faculty where I am going to study. Not too bad. Having found the right way to the park realised quickly that this might not be my place to run. I guess many of you did not know (inlcudig me) that Madrid is really, really hilly; I mean, all the way to  Parque del Oeste it goes donwhill, the park it self is basically a big hill, and the way back is all uphill. I ran the way back from the park to my house; it was only 3km but I was dead afterwards, so much hill (and not to mention: it is still 30 degrees outside). Maybe I am going to look for another path for running. And there is also one decision to make: I either continue running in the evening (when it is slightly colder than during the day) but with the fact that I sometimes will have to run in the dark (which I don’t like, I mean, I run in the middle oft he city, but I think it is still not a 100% save); that way I would manage the half marathon in October. Or I concentrate on going to the gym (and maybe do some spinning and running there), and may be not able to participate in the half marathon (otherwise, if I start runing mid-september, I will probably still be fit enough by the end of October). Let’s see.
After the run I had a shower and with that came the next problem: the water in the shower was not draining off. So there was about 8cm of water at the floor oft he shower and it wasn’t going away. I decided to check later if it was maybe just draining off very slowly (please keep your fingers crossed for me). (Update: it did drain. Thank god.)
Another thing that really pisses me off is the kitchen. Not that it is only very dirty (I mean, I could get taht under control by just cleaning the place I need), but we only have ONE dishcloth and the sponges look like they came from the last century. It is, without any exaggeration, so fucking disgusting. But I don’t know what I can do about that because I am not going to be the one that buys all the stuff for all the people. No way.
But it is late now, good night :*
