Gute Nacht 😘

Toledo Calling!
Today I went to Toledo with my friends Anna, Violetta and Hayato. We went there by bus with an organisation. Toledo is located south-western of Madrid and it took us about one hour to get there.
At first we were having a guided tour. We walked through Toledo for about two hours and our tourguide explained lots of things to us, for example, that Toledo was the capital of Spain until 1561 and that it is very special that there were muslims, jews and christians living together. They still have remaining churches, mosques and synagogues. It was quite interesting and I really liked that our guide was talking in both english and spanish so I was able to see how much I really understood - and I wasn't doing bad at all 😃.
In Toledo there is the second biggest cathedral of entire Spain and as we went there a procession was going on where they carried around a statue of the holy mary. Apparently this takes place only once a year and it is supposed to be something very special but I didn't find it very impressive. There were just some men carrying the statue and a marching band behind them. Nothing else.
Then we proceeded to Plaza Zocodover from where we were set "free" and were able to exlore the city by ourselves. I enjoy exploring by myself more because there is no need to follow some tourist group and I can take as much time as I want. But first thing we did was getting lunch. We found a restaurant which seemed to have something for everyone on their menu. We wanted to sit outside, but since every table was already taken, we were led inside. But apparently the menu for the inside was different than the one we saw outside. In the end everyone found something but we weren't very hungry anyway which was why we ordered only small dishes (I ordered fried clamari), or, at least we thought they were small. When the food arrived at our table, the portions were huge because every food was accompanied with fries and salad. It was huge. The quality of the food was not really good, the fries were soaked in oil but the dishes were really cheap so it was ok 😅.
After having our Lunch we went back to the main place where we met our travel group. We went to a place called "Flying Toledo". There is a cable tightened over the river and you can fly over the river in a belt which they attached to the cable. I am usually a bit sceptical towards these things because I am afraid of the cables tearing or something like that (😅😅😅). But of course everything went well one had a really nice view from there, too (pictures of that will be uploaded in a couple of days). Afterwards, Anna, Hayato, me and Naoemi, who we just met at the tour, went to the synagogue. It was quite interesting because Naoemi is jewish and she was able to explain a lot of things to us. In the end, we had to rush to the meeting point for the departure really fast because we were - typically spanish - already late. But the bus waited for us 😊. On the way back we were stopping at one last viewing point.
It was a really nice day although my feet are hurting now from all the walking around. This is why I am going to sleep now.
Spanish classes start tomorrow 👀.
